Neil Massey returns to Boxfresh after two decades for London Orbital

The photographer reconnects with Boxfresh to shoot our Autumn/Winter 2026 campaign, documenting British DJ and producer Simms, alongside Petit Problème and Bib Sama in South London. The new work is presented alongside a selection of Massey’s original Boxfresh campaign photography from the early 2000s, bringing two eras of the collaboration into conversation.

Returning under new leadership in 2026, London Orbital is the second collection since Boxfresh’s relaunch. An ode to the city, it takes a cyclical view of the projects, scenes and communities that shaped the brand’s defining era, looking at how their influence continues to move through London today.

A cornerstone in documenting British music and youth culture, Massey’s career spans more than 30 years. Through the late 1990s and early 2000s, his work captured the artists, crowds, clubs and subcultures surrounding the turn of the millennium. At a time when social media and camera phones were yet to exist, the internet was in its infancy and magazines ruled. Photography from this period, including work originally commissioned by The Face, was recently exhibited as part of the National Portrait Gallery’s The Face Magazine: Culture Shift. A frequent Boxfresh collaborator throughout the early 2000s, Massey returns twenty years later to turn his lens on British DJ and producer Simms and his circle, Petit Problème and Bib Sama, capturing an intimate link-up between friends in South London.

Simms has emerged as a key figure in a new generation of London’s underground, contributing to the scene through high-energy sets and productions that move between jungle, R&B and garage. A Foundation FM resident, he has appeared across platforms including NTS, Rinse FM, Balamii and BBC Radio 1Xtra, while his productions, refixes and edits have built a growing following online and within the city’s club scene. Drawing on the lineage of British underground music while developing a language of his own, Simms embodies the continuum at the centre of London Orbital.

Alongside the new campaign, Boxfresh presents a selection of Massey’s original photography for the brand from the early 2000s. Licensed from his archive and drawn from their first period of collaboration, the images sit alongside his new work for London Orbital, tracing a relationship with the brand and the culture around it across two decades.
